Joe Unni is a studio furniture maker who specializes in creating custom pieces. Joe formerly worked in the IT field. Self taught, he’s drawn toward contemporary design and is driven to challenge design norms and obstacles.
Unni Woodworks has recently been commissioned by a brand new, local magazine (Merrimack Valley Magazine) to design and build a coffee/conference table. He’s also been invited back to participate in a local art auction (New Paint – scheduled for Saturday, June 2nd), hosted by the Essex Art Center in Lawrence, MA. For a previous auction, Joe created recycled material lanterns; one was a hurricane lamp made from old mill floor boards (this lantern received local Newspaper coverage) and the other was a Shoji lamp made from an old bed rail and an old pallet. http://www.unniwoodworks.com/
